أدان السيد جعفر الصادق محمد عثمان الميرغني، نائب رئيس الحزب الاتحادي الديمقراطي الأصل، ورئيس تحالف الكتلة الديمقراطية، بأشد العبارات الهجوم الذي نفذته طائرات مسيّرة يسيرها المتمردون صباح اليوم على مدينة بورتسودان وعلى كسلا.
وأشار السيد جعفر إلى أن استهداف المطار والميناء ومنشآت حيوية أخرى، يُعد اعتداءً غادرًا على الشعب السوداني بأكمله. وأضاف أن هذا التصعيد الإرهابي يشكل تهديدًا خطيرًا ليس فقط على السودان، بل على الأمن الإقليمي والدولي، لما لكسلا ولمدينة بورتسودان من أهمية استراتيجية بوصفهما مركزًا سياسيًا ولوجستيًا حيويًا. وأضاف أن هذا التصعيد الإرهابي يشكل تهديدًا خطيرًا ليس فقط على السودان، بل على الأمن الإقليمي والدولي، لما لمدينة بورتسودان من أهمية استراتيجية بوصفها مركزًا سياسيًا ولوجستيًا حيويًا. وأضاف أن هذا التصعيد الإرهابي يشكل تهديدًا خطيرًا ليس فقط على السودان، بل على الأمن الإقليمي والدولي، لما لمدينة بورتسودان من أهمية استراتيجية بوصفها مركزًا سياسيًا ولوجستيًا حيويًا.
كما نوَّه إلى أن الهجوم يُعد انتهاكًا صارخًا للقانون الإنساني الدولي، خصوصًا أنه استهدف منشآت مدنية ومناطق مكتظة بالنازحين والبعثات الدولية، مؤكدًا أن الصمت الدولي تجاه هذه الجرائم يرقى إلى التواطؤ.
وحيّا السيد جعفر القوات المسلحة السودانية التي تصدّت للهجوم بكفاءة، مؤكداً أن التصدي للهجمات لا يكفي دون تعبئة وطنية شاملة، ودون تحرك دبلوماسي واسع لعزل هذه الميليشيا ومحاسبتها أمام القانون.
ووجّه السيد جعفر نداءً إلى المجتمع الدولي، وعلى رأسه الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي وجامعة الدول العربية، للقيام بدورهم الكامل في حماية المدنيين، ودعم السودان لاستعادة سيادته وفرض القانون.
كما أشاد السيد جعفر الصادق الميرغني بالبيان الصادر عن وزارة خارجية المملكة العربية السعودية في 1 مايو 2025، والذي أدان بوضوح استهداف المرافق الجوية والمدنية في بورتسودان وكسلا، وعبّر عن التزام المملكة بحماية المدنيين واحترام سيادة السودان. واعتبر أن هذا الموقف النبيل امتداد طبيعي للعلاقات الأخوية التاريخية بين السودان والمملكة، ودليل واضح على الدور الريادي الذي تضطلع به المملكة في حفظ الأمن الإقليمي ودعم الاستقرار في السودان.
Mr. Gaffar Elmirgani, Vice President of the Democratic Unionist Party (Original) and Chairman of the Democratic Bloc Alliance, strongly condemned the attack carried out this morning by drones operated by insurgents on the cities of Port Sudan and Kassala.
Mr. Elmirgani stated that the targeting of the airport, seaport, and other vital facilities constitutes a treacherous assault on the Sudanese people as a whole. He added that this terrorist escalation poses a grave threat not only to Sudan but also to regional and international security, given the strategic importance of Kassala and Port Sudan as critical political and logistical hubs.
He emphasized that this attack represents a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, particularly as it targeted civilian infrastructure and areas densely populated with displaced persons and international missions. He warned that continued international silence in the face of such crimes amounts to complicity.
Mr. Elmirgani praised the Sudanese Armed Forces for their effective response to the assault, stressing that repelling such attacks requires more than military readiness — it necessitates comprehensive national mobilization and a robust diplomatic effort to isolate and hold the militia accountable under the law.
He issued a call to the international community — especially the United Nations, the African Union, and the League of Arab States — to fully uphold their responsibilities in protecting civilians and supporting Sudan in restoring its sovereignty and enforcing the rule of law.
Mr. Elmirgani also commended the statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 1 May 2025, which clearly condemned the targeting of civil and aviation infrastructure in Port Sudan and Kassala, and reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to civilian protection and respect for Sudanese sovereignty. He described the statement as a noble and principled stance, consistent with the historic fraternal ties between Sudan and the Kingdom, and clear evidence of Saudi Arabia’s leading role in safeguarding regional stability and supporting Sudan’s peace and unity.
