نشر الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي بوست جديد على صفحته الرسمية بموقع التواصل الاجتماعي فيس بوك قال فيه : أُثمّن رسالة فخامة الرئيس “دونالد ترامب”، وجهوده المٌقدّرة في ترسيخ دعائم السلام والاستقرار على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي وما تضمنته من تقدير لدور مصر المحوري في دعم الأمن والاستقرار بالمنطقة.
كما أثمن اهتمام الرئيس “ترامب” بمحورية قضية نهر النيل لمصر، الذي يمثل شريان الحياة للشعب المصري، وأن مصر أكدت حرصها على التعاون الجاد والبناء مع دول حوض النيل، والقائم على مبادئ القانون الدولي ، وبما يحقق المصالح المشتركة دون إضرار بأي طرف. وهي الثوابت التي يتأسس عليها الموقف المصري.
وفى هذا الإطار فقد وجّهت خطابا للرئيس ترامب تضمن الشكر والتقدير، وتأكيد الموقف المصري ، وشواغلنا ذات الصلة بالأمن المائي المصرى، والتأكيد على الدعم المصرى لجهوده والتطلع لمواصلة العمل عن كثب معه خلال المرحلة المقبلة.
I appreciate the letter from His Excellency President Donald Trump and his valued efforts to consolidate the foundations of peace and stability at the regional and international levels, as well as the appreciation it conveyed for Egypt’s pivotal role in supporting security and stability in the region.
I also value President Trump’s attention to the central importance of the Nile River issue for Egypt, as it represents the lifeline of the Egyptian people. Egypt has affirmed its commitment to serious and constructive cooperation with the Nile Basin countries, based on the principles of international law, in a manner that achieves shared interests without causing harm to any party. These are the constants upon which the Egyptian position is founded.
In this context, I have addressed a letter to President Trump conveying my thanks and appreciation, reaffirming Egypt’s position and our related concerns regarding Egyptian water security, underscoring Egypt’s support for his efforts, and expressing my aspiration to continue working closely with him during the coming phase.
